In the construction of a new vineyard, the arrangement and orientation of the rows are fundamental to say the least. The squaring phase, which encompasses all geometric and stakeout operations, should only be performed by an agronomist and technicians whom he coordinates himself. First, the agronomist has the task of identifying the exact boundaries of the plot. Once the boundaries have been established, respecting the distances dictated by agronomic practice, the first \u201cyellow\u201d stake must be positioned from which the whole vineyard originates and develops.<\/em><\/p>

In the case of our Trebbiano Spoletino vineyard, the planting system adopted is that of 0.90 m by 2.80 m, which are respectively the distance between two vines within the same row and the distance between two contiguous rows. . Using these parameters, we built quadrants of 28 m (multiple of 2.80 m) by 27 m (multiple of 0.90 m), which are the basic units to proceed with the actual planting of the cuttings. Each quadrant is made up of 10 rows, each of which is made up of 30 cuttings, for a total of 300 plants. Yellow pegs are placed on each corner of the dial, while \"green\" pegs are placed at the beginning and end of each row.<\/em><\/p>

The quadrant is rectified by checking its diagonal which, in this specific case, must be equal to 39 m, in order to avoid any deviations caused by the irregular pattern of the ground surface.
